Ruislip Manor Houses

Ruislip is located to the North West of Central London in the London borough of Hillingdon. The parish church, St Martins’s, is dated back to the 13th century appearing in the Domesday Book. Development of the area exploded following the introduction of the Metropolitan Railway infrastructure in early 20th century. Therefore the majority of residential developments feature Victorian and Edwardian architecture which is beautifully preserved in the Grade II listed village square.  The surrounding area features a large number of 1930's houses, for instance those built by Manor Homes.

Ruislip Library

In more recent years there have been modern developments; however the local authority has maintained its agenda for preserving historic buildings. More specifically refurbishments to Winston Churchill Hall, Manor Farm, The Duck Pond Market and the Grade II listed library help Ruislip continue its traditional atmosphere.

The area has tube access to the Metropolitan Line, Piccadilly Line, and Central Line making it fully integrated with modern ways of life.

Ruislip also has its own Lido, originally built as a reservoir in 1811, Ruislip Lido was opened in 1933 as an outdoor area for swimming, boating, water skiing and other outdoor leisure pursuits.  It had a difficult life in the 1970's to 1990's, but London Borough of Hillingdon  have new reinstatement plans to return it to its former glory.
