We have all seen double glazing panels that are misted between the panes of glass, but how many have a fish tank in their patio door.

The reason for the failing though is the same; a leak in the seal around the double glazed window that allows moist air to seep in, replacing the inert gas that should be there.  When the windows warms up (South facing are more vulnerable) the water molecules are drawn up the void and then condense as the glass cools.

Congratulations to Woodward Chartered Surveyor Daniel Stephens, who spotted this during a building survey for a home buyer in Oxford.

Building Survey detail

This one was a little obvious, but a Building Survey (still referred to by some as a "Full Structural Survey") by a Chartered Surveyor gives great detail of inspection and reporting, as described in our video by Chartered Surveyor Stephen Cornish FRICS.
