Congratulations to the 17 Team Woodward cyclists who did London to Brighton for Children with Cancer UK.

Whether they were Super Fast, Super Fit or Super Positive they all accomplished one thing - they are all SUPER HEROES raising money for children they will never meet, but whose delicate lives they have all touched with their spirit and generosity.

Our Super Speedy financial advisor Gary Simpson did the whole thing in "3 hours 25 mins 1 second and a squillion sets of traffic lights".  Well done The Simps, may all our mortgages go through "underwriting" as quickly.

This has cost me £5 in a secret bet I had with Ian Bowers (also of Simpson Bowers Wealth Management) that our property solicitor Graham Sharpe of Lynch Hall and Hornby (sponsored by Woodward Chartered Surveyors) would be our first finisher.  Graham's comment was "Simpson has very big legs".

Great accomplishments were made by the boys; Ian Bowers, David Ingram (off on a walking holiday today!), Steve Cardy of Harrow Locksmiths, the two nicest estate agents in Pinner and Watford; Adam Stimpson (of David Charles Estate Agents) and David Vizard of Marshall Vizard (how can he eat that many of Sam's sandwiches and still be so thin?) respectively, and the triumph of mind over training: Francis West of IT solutions company WESTTEK.  Gentlemen, you are all fabulous human beings.

And so to The Keeler-Clan.  Of The Lads Jonny flew through and was back home in London ordering curry before others had finished.  Boris (who had a bike with no gears!) Jorge, both of whom stopped for a pint en route!, Arrianne and Georgie (only back from South America a few hours before the start) all made it through with great determination.  And the daddy, Simon Keeler, our favourite property developer, huffed and puffed through to great applause, triumph and appreciation that advancing years are no restraint for him!  This leaves poor Livvy Keeler, who some of you will remember as our wonderful Business Development Officer, whose new bike shuddered to an unrepairable halt at mile 35 and had to be left by the road side steaming (Livvy that is) until recovered by "Support Vehicle 1".

Finally, Olivia Woodward, escorted and shadowed throughout by Jamie (including an hour long bike repair stop) cycled happily in together at the close of the day. What a victory.

Oh, and Stephen Woodward's day was not without drama. Having rescued Livvy he put her bike carefully on the roof carrier - then  drove through the car park gantry at the bottom of Ditchling Beacon, smashing the bike and new bike carrier on an unseen height restriction.  If Livvy's bike wasn't broken beyond repair before - it sure is now!  Sorry Livvy.  Parts are on order.

Well done all of you.
