Life Long Learning at Surveyors Conference in Watford

As part of our commitment to what Managing Director Stephen Cornish has coined “Life-long Learning”, all Woodward Chartered Surveyors attended the superb Surveyors Conferences in Watford.

The annual event is organised by Michelle Tobias’ leading firm Professional Conferences and this year included such topics as the practical use of Automated Valuation Models for property valuers by expert Philip Santos, application and benefits of new products for the insulation of cavity walls and issues with condensation and insulation in older roofs by Marianne Suhr, described as the closest thing Chartered Surveyors have as a Celebrity, following her numerous  television appearances on programmes such as the BBC’s “Restoration”.

The Team also met with one of our heroes, Phil Parnham (pictured), who chaired the conference.  Phil, former lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, an acclaimed author of many RICS and building surveying books, is a Director at BlueBox Partners.  He is not only a Guru of the Chartered Surveying profession, but also the funniest Chartered Surveyor we know!

All Chartered Surveyors are required by the RICS to achieve 20 hours of CPD (Continuous Professional Development) each year to develop their skills and knowledge in order to remain professionally competent and achieve their true potential.

Woodward Chartered Surveyors ethos is to far exceed this.  As well as Professional Conferences events we attend Practice Meetings each month.  Not all can reach the giddy heights of Stephen Cornish’s 91 hours this year, but our commitment to being the best Chartered Surveyors we can be is carried by all of us.
